This is a very important reminder of our drop-off and pick-up procedures. This is not a new procedure but we do ask that everyone understand their will be over 100 new students coming on campus who haven't mastered the procedures. Please show grade and understand, tomorrow will be a lengthy process. I assure you after a couple of days, everyone will know and appreciated the procedures for our students safety.
MORNING ARRIVAL
The campus will be “Wheels Only” for student drop off and dismissal. What this means is that students will go home or come to school one of three ways:
Bus
Parent drop-off or pick-up by vehicle only though the line
Walk (based on address listed in Skyward–must live less than two miles from JES). There will be some procedures for students 3rd grade and below who walk home.
DROP OFF in the Mornings: Parents/guardians ARE NOT TO GET OUT OF THEIR VEHICLES and must drive through the parent drop off line to let students out in the morning. Students cannot walk across the parking lot. If you need to visit the office, you will need to wait until after drop off is completed. Parents/visitors cannot come on campus until after 7:50 unless you have a SCHEDULED appointment/meeting/conference.
DO NOT DROP STUDENTS OFF ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. We had many instances where accidents almost happened. OUR STUDENTS SAFETY outweighs any inconvenience to you.
DISMISSAL
At the end of the day, approximately 860 students leave campus at the same time in a very limited space. Therefore, dismissal procedures are crucial to maximize safety.
There are three dismissal groups:
Bus - Students who ride the school bus.
Parent Pick-up - Students who get into a vehicle in an assigned loop. Parent Pick- Up runs from 2:35-3:00. Drivers do not exit the vehicle and must keep their tag visible in the Parent- Pick Up line.
Students who walk home (must have a home address in Skyward within 2-miles of the school).
It is important to inform your child's teacher on the way your child/children will go home each day. If you change the way your child/children leave school, please contact the front office or directly call the office at (386)684-2130 by 2:00 p.m. with that information. We will not be able to guarantee any changes after 2:00 pm.
If you will be picking up your child in a personal vehicle, you will be required to have a car pick up tag, which will have an assigned number, provided by the school, hanging from the rearview mirror. No one will be permitted to walk up to the school to pick up their child during dismissal. If you do not have the number assigned to your vehicle hanging in the rearview mirror, we will ask that you park and wait until dismissal is done. You will then need to report to the office with an ID to check your child out after parent pickup is completed.
Important Dismissal Reminders: Remember, these procedures are in place in an effort to keep our children safe. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this causes – we believe our children's well-being outweighs any inconvenience.

Jenkins Elementary is proud to partner with Hope FM 91.3. They support our students each and every year with a generous donation of supplies. We are very appreciative and our families are, too.

Welcome Ambrielle Smith to the Jenkins Rams Family. We look forward to you working with our students and staff.

A great big welcome is going out to Brittany Tillquist. We are grateful to have her as part of JES.

Welcome to Kyle Coleman who will be working in our Math Intervention Lab. We are so happy to welcome him to the Ram Family.

We are excited to welcome Mrs. Jammi Beverly to our staff. Our Ram Family is growing.

We will be having our annual meet and greet on Thursday, August 7, 2025. Grade levels Kg. 2nd, 4th and 5th can come anytime between 10:00-2:00. We are asking that 1st Grade, 3rd Grade, and 6th Grade parents and students meet in the cafeteria at the designated times for a meeting and then the opportunity to get schedules and paperwork. This meeting is very important for parents to understand the requirements at these particular grade levels.

We would like to welcome Mrs. Heather Gibson to our school. She is coming to us from Clay County and has a phenomenal background in student services and counseling. We are so excited for her to join our Ram Family and bring in her advocacy for our students.

We are pleased and excited to welcome Mr. Lucas Bennett to our campus as the Assistant Principal at JES. We are so glad you have joined our Ram Family.

As we get ready to welcome students back on August 11th for the 2025–2026 school year, we encourage all families to prioritize student health and safety now.
Please ensure your child’s required vaccinations and physical examinations are up to date before the first day of school. Vaccinations can be completed through your child’s healthcare provider or the Putnam County Health Department. If your student will need prescription medication or treatments during school hours, please provide a current, signed physician order. Over-the-counter medications require a signed parent consent form. For detailed health requirements and resources, visit our district Health Services page: https://www.putnamschools.org/page/health-services
Thank you for helping us keep our students healthy, safe, and ready to learn!

Let's all work together to promote student success!

Here is our basic supply list for the 2025-2026 school year.
