Dear JES Families,

Due to circumstances beyond our control, our Fall Festival plans are changing a little this year! We are excited to host our JES Fall Festival on Friday, October 30, during the school day.

This change allows every student to participate in the fun and festivities here at school! Students will visit the Fall Festival during their regularly scheduled Special Area time.

🦸‍♀️ Red Ribbon Week: Dress Like Your Favorite Hero!

Since Friday is also the final day of Red Ribbon Week, students are invited to dress up as their Favorite Hero! Whether their hero is a real-life role model or a favorite superhero, we look forward to seeing their creativity!

Please remember the following costume guidelines:

No masks.

No inflatable or blow-up costumes.

All costumes must be school appropriate.

🍁 Volunteers Needed!

We need the support of our JES family to make this event a success! APPROVED, UNSUPERVISED VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED to help run booths and make this a memorable day for our students.

Please let us know if you are an approved, unsupervised volunteer who can donate your time to work a booth and support our students. Only approved, unsupervised volunteers may assist with this event.

Please note: This is a student-only event.

Thank you for your flexibility, support, and willingness to help us create special memories for our Rams! We appreciate all you do to make JES a wonderful place for our students.

Congratulations to Ms. Neal's Homeroom Class for reaching the next level of attendance incentives. They have received a baseball spinner.

🌎📚 Ms. Walker’s Cambridge class is hard at work on their research papers in Global Perspectives! As students explore their topics and organize their findings, they are strengthening their research, inquiry, and writing skills.

We’re proud of our Rams for their curiosity, dedication, and commitment to learning! 💙🐏

🌎🔍 Mrs. Fleming’s 1st grade Cambridge class put their research and inquiry skills into action through their Global Perspectives home and group projects! Students observed local animals, shared their findings, and worked together to create group charts.

📚✨ Big learning for our littlest Rams! Mrs. Railing’s kindergarten students are building strong reading foundations through hands-on intervention centers, small-group instruction, and reading practice. From matching letter sounds and practicing rhymes to exploring books, our Kinder learners are hard at work!

We’re proud of their effort and growing confidence! 💙🐏

Mrs. Adderley's class recently presented their research and showing animal habitats they want to protect against development and other habitat destructive activities.

All members are asked to attend the October SAC meeting. We appreciate all of our parents, businesses and community involvement.

Mrs. Gallagher's class worked on volume recently with composite figures.

Get ready for an exciting week of school spirit, kindness, healthy choices, and being drug-free! Our Red Ribbon Week theme is “Make a Difference. Be a Hero. Stay Drug Free.” 🦸‍♀️🦸‍♂️

Students are invited to participate in fun, themed dress-up days throughout the week:

🔗 Friday, Oct. 23: Heroes Stick Together — Wear your Ram gear!
💪 Monday, Oct. 26: Train Like a Hero — Wear athletic/workout/sports gear!
🧠 Tuesday, Oct. 27: Use Your Super Brain — Dress like a brainiac/nerd!
🌈 Wednesday, Oct. 28: Superheroes Come in Every Color — Wear your favorite colors or tie-dye!

Robert H. Jenkins Jr. Elementary — Where Heroes Are Built!

Today is talk about it Thursday at Jenkins. Students have an opportunity to share about a book that they are reading over the intercom on the morning announcements. Today Luke shared about, Charlotte's Web, by E. B. White, and he did a fantastic job. Keep up the great work Luke.

Today, we celebrate and honor our amazing instructional coaches at Jenkins Elementary School—Mrs. Finch, Mrs. Tomlinson, and Mrs. Lehtinen!

Thank you for your dedication, encouragement, expertise, and unwavering support of our teachers and students. You inspire us to grow, learn, and become better every day. We are truly grateful for the difference you make in our school community!

Congratulations to Mrs. Thornton's class for having the highest attendance percentage in the school last week. We know that students learn best when they are present. Rocky the Ram will be spending the week with them to celebrate. Great job!

We are incredibly proud to have our very own assistant principal recognized today as the Putnam County Assistant Principal of the Year! 🏆 Mr. Bennett is such a tremendous part of our Ram family and is second to none in his commitment to making our school better each and every day. His dedication, leadership, and heart for our students and staff make a difference on our campus every single day. We are truly blessed to have Mr. Bennett as part of our school family. Mrs. Adams is a 20+ year educator whose dedication, leadership, and commitment to students and staff are evident every day. Under her leadership, Robert H. Jenkins Jr. Elementary School achieved a B school grade for the first time in many years—a tremendous accomplishment that reflects the hard work of our entire school family.
